Week 8 - Communicating Materiality

Fusion 360: 3D Shapes

Initials

A.R.T

Evaluation: When choosing the materials for my initial 3D model, i played around with a lot of the shinier textures as i thought it 'popped' more and was more appealing to the eye. Originally i had put copper polished as the exterior, a light blue tint glass for the interior of the shell and had the environment/highlight as warm light. However, after testing a few different materials, i found 'palladium polished' and thought it brought out a more metallic appearance which i thought would contrast really well with gold, hence choosing to change the interior of the shell to gold. I also changed the environment to be the plaza so it was more reflective. It also added an interesting blue-ish tint to the model and a cool picture reflection inside where the gold is.
